The Comet gown was a caped and beaded dream come true. I love how unconventional the dress is. It's one of those ethereal feelings when you wear it and truly one of a kind. I purchased it in Northern Ireland at the White Gallery on November 13, 2017 and brought it back to the US for our wedding on February 25, 2018.
This dress is sold AS-IS (hence the low price). I had it dry cleaned for $300 after the wedding and it came out looking brand new. After it was dry cleaned though, we travelled with the dress to Ireland, Iceland, Greece, and France for additional photos on our honeymoon(s). With a dress this beautiful, I refused to only wear it once! There is dirt on the tail of the train (shown in the photo) and mud on the underside of the satin slip from standing at the edge of the Cliffs of Moher. The beading is still in perfect condition and the dress has been stored in its original garment bag. Other than the mud and a wrinkled silk liner, there are no signs of wear on the dress.
Because the beading and the lace make the dress fall perfectly, I didn't feel the need for the satin ties and had them removed. I danced and moved freely with no issues of it slipping or falling off the shoulders. The cape has a strap across the sternum that also offers perfect support. I was told the cape can be removed, but I love how it has the effect of being sleeved!
