This lace dress was beautiful, delciate and also COMFORTABLE on my wedding day!
I purchased the dress in 2013 as a floor sample because the shop was offering a discount on the dress, so while the size is an 8 with an inserted corset made for an A or B cup and made for quite a taller bride than my 5'1" height, we altered it for a more petite person. The built-in corset means you feel secure all day and no need for additional undergarmets on top. This a-line dress has a simple white/ivory base with a lace overlay and then another layer of lace that opens at the front of the dress. I wore cowboy boots with about a 1in lift for the day. From the waist cinch to the floor, the skirt is 41in. long.
The dress zips up at the back, which is well hidden under the delicate lace. A gorgeous lace ruffle lines the top of the strapless bust, and continues right around to the back of the dress. When we had to shorten the dress becuase of my height, we had to bring it up from the waist to preserve the lacing on the bottom of the skirt. This created an opportunity to make a little lace "peplum" on the waist (discovered by accident during alterations) but I loved it and we kept it! We also took some of the extra lace and created a halter out of the lace, but it can easily be removed becuase it is delicately attached by a few sitches and some eyehole fasteners on the right side. I am a small C cup so we made a few slits inside the corset in the cups for a little extra room.
The dress is a size 8 by the tag, but I am size 4 currently and about 5 lbs more than on my wedding day and its a little tight to zip up currently. Would fit a size 2-4 who is shorter than 5'3"
It was purchased 2013 for my September 2013 wedding. Fully dry cleaned and stored in protected bag hanging since then. There are no rips in the lace and no stains.
